About us
Merpiel is the result of a family´s work for over 150 years in the business of buying and selling skins and hides as a raw material. Traditionally our market has been located in Europe and our clients have been the most prestigious ones, thanks to our professionalism and the high quality of the raw material our suppliers provided. But, the complexity and the fast change of the market, together with the strong globalization of our field, lead us to having a new horizon in mind; such as the emergent markets of Asia.

Types of hides and skins
Interfine lamb skins for nappa
This type of skin, both for its thickness and for the excellent quality of its "pore" is considered the best in the world in its category.
It is used by the most prestigious and well-known brands of footwear, leather accessories, as well as those of outerwear, jackets, etc. Thanks to our climate and the good nature of our breeds of cattle, production is maintained throughout the year.
Merino lamb skins for double face
If we talk about merino, we are talking without a doubt about the best lambskin that we can find for double-faced items. Its density, the exquisite softness of its wool and the high quality of the "suede" guarantee the excellence of this type of leather. Production is concentrated between the months of November to May.
Sheepskin interfine for nappa
This type of dense and voluminous leather is suitable for making nappa garments and boots.
Goat skins for nappa and suede
If we talk about goatskin we can appreciate its consistency, as its most outstanding quality. It is used for shoes and nappa and suede clothing.
Kid skins
Due to the youth of the animal, which never exceeds 30 to 40 days of life, the quality of the "pore" is superior, making it ideal for nappa shoes, gloves and other articles.
